Every year in Coeur D’Alene, Idaho, the Aesthetic and Medical Dermatology Symposia delivers an unrivaled experience for industry experts and leaders. From May 18 to 21 of this year, physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, cosmetic consultants, and other professionals gathered at the conference to learn more about the intersection of disease dermatology and cosmetic dermatology, as well as the psychological impacts of aesthetic improvements.
Each year’s symposia highlights the most important trends and research in the industry. This year, participants benefited from lessons and hands-on workshops about relevant topics like the special considerations of skin color, neurotoxins and dermal fills, energy-based skin care, psoriasis management, rosacea and acne, actinic keratosis management, skin cancer treatment, and so much more.
A number of industry leaders had the opportunity to speak at this year’s Aesthetic and Medical Dermatology Symposia, including Doctor Marianne Carroll, DO, of Carroll Dermatology Surgery and Laser Institute in West Palm Beach, Florida. Dr. Carroll presented on the current treatment guidelines for squamous cell and basal cell carcinoma to a group of plastic surgeons, dermatologists, physicians, and physician extenders.
Surgical dermatology, specifically the treatment of squamous and basal cell carcinoma, is one of Dr. Carroll’s specialties, so she was able to offer other professionals valuable and current information to support their clinical knowledge of skin cancer treatment methods.
